i was just wondering. not that i lost any money because of it lately or anything.. but wouldnt it be nice if admins cancelled the matches with fake lineups posted before the match? i mean, ok.. one player changes in the last minute. that's understandable. but sometimes half of the team is different from the lineup posted on gtv. that in my opinion is misleading and unfair to the ppl betting. take it under consideration, please:*

Those lineups are mostly added by the managers or were commented by the teams themself. While we do have admins caring about matches (you like to complain about them) we prioritize the vital operations on matches which means we rather check if coverage is okay with teams, help them finding a proper matchserver, help them finding broadcasters and see that nothing overlaps.
With the growing number of matches every day this is becoming harder and harder, and THAT is why we granted manager privileges to the people requesting coverage. They can edit all the information there is to know about a match; every single detail.
If you don't know the teams or you're not even into the scene of a game its hard to see if lineups are correct or not; so my personal opinion is that its more the responsibility of a manager to add lineups. And like every other community page we live from users and from user input, so if you know something about lineups, pm the managers
Nevertheless you might sometimes spot a site admin/sup adding lineups :p

thanks for the answer. i am aware that the match details are put in by the teams themselfs. and im not saying its your job to correct them if the teams post fake ones. canceling the matches with fake lineups wouldnt be a violation to the betting ppl. and im also aware that if my suggestion was accepted there would be some ppl that disagreed with it and whined about it too. i just figured it would be more fair that way. thanks for ur time, anyway.
as i stated before, if you know the correct lineups and pm them to the match manager he will probably add/change them
TBH this site is about coverage of matches be it ET, et:qw, wSw, Q3 etc. etc.

Grow up, if you want to gamble on matches then think and look who is the match manager and then decide whether a lineup is going to be true.

At the end of the day adding lineups is flawed by the source of information, I have actually asked teams over and over again for a lineup to add prior to the match with no response and finally the safest way was to add the lineup of those players that actually joined the server at match time!

i DIDN'T whine. i simply made a suggestion and i was polite about it. if u are unable to have a normal conversation and u have to insult ppl to feel good (and ofc, grown up) about urself we have nothing to talk about. sadly, everyone has the right to an opinion. and even more sad is the fact that "everyone" includes u. but, whatcha gonna do.. that's life.

If I feel bored, I could as well bet on a random team on gtv, go watch the game and cheer up for the side I betted on. Although I normally don't watch many ETTV games at all.

Well ok that's true, but cancelling matches for the gbooky is something I don't agree with tho. Lineups should be correct, yes, but it shouldn't be a drama if people lost because of a not 100% correct lineup. Only option is that players announce lineup edits and managers update it on time.

well tbh he's stating it twice (matches), but cancelling bets would be a different option, not sure what the others think about it tho

well it's simple we will get all teams to register their lineup with us and if they play a diff lineup then their match / coverage is cancelled!

It seems obvious he means cancelling the bets. You don't have to take everything so literally.
Well then he doesn't know that cancelling bets = cancelling matches, we have not option to just cancel bets, at least my level doesn't, with that, I don't like it to check lineups for every match, if someone should do it, it's the match manager. And for the matches that I'm the manager for, I just make sure the lineups are correct.
if it doesn't exist, it's highly probable it can be made, if you see which other stuff this site has to offer regarding features as such

Since the site was built around coverage of matches and gbooky was built on later I'm not even sure it's that easy however:-
1.At no point did he talk about only cancelling the bets
2.Who is going to be resposible for checking lineups of upto 20 matches in different games per day and deciding if the bet should be cancelled?
3.I'm not being dramatic, I just feel someone is missing the whole "original" point of the site!

tnx for all ur opinions. and for the record, i was talking about the cancellation of bets and not matches. i didnt realize u admins do not have the power to only cancel the bets and not the whole match. and i very much agree with spirea's comment about betting on some team just to make the match more interesting if i am bored sometimes.
