First off, the new site looks great - gratz :O)

But as said over 'n over, the news presentation with items such as this needs working on.

Ignoring the validity of the content, it just looks shit. Ruins the otherwise clean, sleek design of the site.

Personally I'd favour this template, or a variation of for all news.

News can be authored by any member of the page so we don't have a real influence on how they design their news items. If we compose news ourselves we try to fit them into the page. we don't really have the time to review all the posted news and check their layout. we already tried to make it prettier by forcing that standard sized logo.

But in the future we want to try to push the news more into the background anyway.

By the way: what do you mean with "the new site" - gtv2? we're online for over four months now :D

we want to redesign the frontpage anyways - currently we lack a good layout (design) otherwise we would have done it already :-(

ah missed it, guess i need to talk to skooli then :)

we already HAVE a function that requires administrative review for "non-trusted-members", but if you're active you can add without approval pretty quickly.
And that admin review is more to stop spammers or ppl who simply misunderstood what news are for - checking the layout is done pretty roughly if at all.

the main problem with mislayouted news is that people newline too much and dont use the available width

( chosen_ already did some layout tests but unfortunately we werent satisfied with it (not what chosen did, but with the layout we chose))

i already agreed the first time you brought it up, since its been a slow process of trying to find out how that new frontpage is supposed to look like
