ET AntiCheat Effort, or etace for short, the part of xfire-project that tries to make our community cheater-free, is now in development phase. We have come up with a plan to do just that, and we're now working on it. I won't give you much, just a hint: etace will be a new mod, that will take on the feeling of etpro (and will have ettv), but it will be done in such a way that will stop all the cheats out there.

So hopefully people start switching to this modification in hopes to keep cheating out of the picture till rtcw2 comes out. There will be cheats that will be able to be updated towards it but unlike the etpro dev team this team will not be in-active :)

great, but pls guyz try to contact ETpro crew and bani - they have so many experiences and abilities to do something in ETpro and if you help them it will be best and as well pls remember about PBGUID AtUH system that is very good idea and I think it could work!
I had the idea of a ETPRO X Series that would actually be updated, but the dev team is so inactive hard to get a hold of them
the dev team doesnt take you seriously (you came from nowhere) and therefore doesnt support nor help you ...

First of al, ETACE is not really the same as XFIRE-PROJECT. They're different things, and they have different crews.
I don't know about the cheat-history of miTTi and Bozz, but they're not concerned with the development of ETACE. They're part of the xfire-project alone. Now that it has been settled:
Chaplja. First of all, the mod will be opensource, and everybody will get to see what happens behind the doors (and, for those who can, contribute). All contributions will be checked by the core team (me, Elf Friend, foxX, can you see any pattern?) and I really doubt chaplja will try to insert a backdoor. Oh, forgot to mention, all contributions are also tracked (svn, anyone?) He knows that if he tries, we'll find out pretty soon. And we really don't want backdoors into our mod.
Try to stop being biased and realize chaplja is a programmer, and that cheat-coders are not necessarily evil-minded. Oh, and a cheat really is an interesting project to pick up in your spare time (from a programmer's point of view). So is a mod, and so is an anticheat solution.
One more thing, to test anticheat technologies, you have to know if they work, right? And how can you know, if you don't test cheats as well? (As far as I know that's the "miTTi bust" ) . I have like 4 cheats on my desktop, and source code from 3 more cheats. Does that mean I'm cheating? People who had scrims with me can confirm I'm not. Oh, and I'm not a nicklamer like many players, I always play with the name quad.

Yea, make it open source, it will be even easier to code cheats for it XD

Making it opensource is really clever.

Making synthetic drugs is a really interesting project to pick up in your spare time (from a chemist's point of view).
Making explosive devices is a really interesting project to pick up in your spare time (from a physicist's point of view).
The "interesting project" excuse is no longer valid when you have to brag about it on the 'net and publish cheats/source/tutorials though.
It's nice if your little cheater really is trying to use his knowledge in a more positive way, but people will continue to doubt his intentions until he's proved his worth. Nothing you say will change that, only a successful project can.
As for the other guy, if he was really "testing" cheats on public servers with his regular PB GUID then I wouldn't expect him to contribute anything to your project in the intellectual area. :)

I don't feel like switching. Etpro works years and years, and releases up to 3.2.6. Now you are gonna release et-ace 1.0 before rtcw2 comes up. Nice one developping.
You're kindof right, but you're missing 2 points:
- We're branching from etpub, so we're actually using their years of coding and experience to our advantage.
- We don't want to make etace better than etpro, but (well) suited for competition and cheater proof. Etpro doesn't do so good with cheaters, does it?

you come from etpub, so how do you want to be competition wise? Etpub claims to have same hitboxes as etpro but I know better.
+ bani has stated he doesn't have the funds to make a maintained AC. Think of solving that.

Sure etpro hitboxes are not perfect, but they come relatively close. All other mods have shit hitboxes. Even et vanilla scores better then etpub imo.
And I am not telling you to pay bani. But how about 'hey bani I am willing to make your AC working. Give me some time and i can make an update system for your cheats.dat '

Erm... not really, since our system will be completely different than cheats.dat. cheats.dat is kinda the same that pb does , and we're going for a completely different approace.
