Urban Whut
Urban Terror, originally a Q3 mod, it's now a free standalone game. This will be the first of many matches we'll be broadcasting (also through games tv) it's for the Urban-Zone League (www.urban-zone.org/league)

It's free since 2007 by using a custom version of the ioQuake3 engine (based on GPL'ed Quake3), before that you needed Quake3 retail.
(everything you need is included in the download)
Since '07 the game has grown enormously. Urban Zone season #1 (2007) had 20 teams, the current season (season #8 just started) has over 80 teams.
The download isn't huge, just grab it, install it, and watch a few GTV matches to see if it's something that might interest you (bear in mind GTV is no-where near as good as ETTV unfortunately).

The teams featured in this match btw are 2 of the top CTF teams in Urban Terror, so should be a good match. :)
I used to play UrT, the game is incredible. Glad to see it on GTV. :)

Your right if you say that the graphics are outdated, but I think you'll agree that a 10 year old game that still has 4100+ people playing it at peak times must have something, btw this figure is still increasing weekly even though there hasn't been an update for about 2 years. In my opinion urbanterror has great gameplay, it's the reason i've been playing this game for 7! years on and off. Soon there will be a new version (4.2) which has huge graphics upgrades. Anyway I can only say, download it, and watch tonights war.

thats why i keep looking forward to the game tonight... maybe it ll prove me wrong.
i m not giving a shit on the graphics.. i m a quake and ET player, i prefer shitlooking games with good gameplay than that lately released shit with just awesome graphics and bullshit play...
but it was kinda buggy for me when i ve tryed it, binding stuff didnt really work well, configuring it with the built in options was not quite helpful

UrT players would use custom configs (autoexec.cfg, same as ET) to set their binds and other stuff. UrT doesn't have per map / per class autoexec's like ETPro but it's pretty configurable and you can write scripts with +vstr support etc.
If you were ever going to play it properly you'd certainly need a config and a loadout script, doing it manually via the built-in UI isn't really up to the job.
