There has been a lot of controversion going on about the matchservers that gamestv contributors make available for free use on ettv covered matches.

While we had to pull the handbrake on the system that just allowed everyone to just take any server, partially for the reasons in the article linked above, we have now revisited the whole system to make it even better (Maybe some of the cry babies will actually realise what we do for them).

Whats changed is the following - we now determine which servers can be added to which match by its rating - your match will now require 2 stars in order to use most of the matchservers. This might change during time, as this number can be freely chosen by the server's admin.

So we'll end up with many more servers available for the better and top matches - most of the time with a choice of 5 or more matchservers in different locations - usable with just one click.

This one goes out to the (sometimes) pro whiners - next time you see a whole list of possible matchservers that we make available for you, think about what an effort it is for us (mainly our contributers) to make this happen and maybe drop them a "thank you" to stand out from the "whinecroud".

who determines the rating on a match and how does a match like mamut vs bbashers (or impact, can't remember) have only a 2 star rating? Which matches can expect a 3 star rating?

the ratings are based on statistical data from the past and the current match itself ...

0 stars - usually an uncare match, dont really know why its here
1 stars - your average ladder match, group phase tournament game - not a match for the masses but some will find it interesting - as most teams and ladders are in this category, there will always be the most matches here
2 stars - an interesting match that we recommend to our viewers - finals for small cups, elimination of larger cups will be here, maybe sometimes also fights for top ladder positions
3 stars - this is really and extraordinary match - you will not see many of these - thats intentional - a match like this usually has top teams playing in a top league/cup for a final or semifinal. It is absolutely intentional that 3 star matches are rare, so they are special.

Alright on the stars then. How about a filter to choose which matches you don't want to see based on how many stars a game has?
