CB joins leagues in 5v5 tournaments (5062 Views)

ClanBase and WarLeagues Enemy Territory divisions would like to announce that all future cups and leagues will be played in a 5v5 format.
This will be effective from the next season in both leagues and brings us in line with other games and increases our chances of future LAN events enormously, as well as reinvigorating the game with new playstyles and tactics. 3v3 leagues and ladders are uneffected by this change. A new 5v5 ladder on ClanBase will be online within 24 hours.
We look forward to a long, exciting and happy future for ET - the future has never looked brighter for the game.

Apparently everyone hates 5on5... Maybe that's why Qcon was so popular! xD
It wasnt the 5v5 format that made Qcon big. 6v6 would at least have given the same response from the community, maybe even bigger.
Yeah... Imo 5v5 > 6v6, so I'm VERY happy!

Can someone explain to me... how does playing in 5on5 incrase our chances for future LAN's? And why does 6on6 decrase such.....?
We started playing ET with 6 players, and we will end playing ET with 6 players...
They should reconsider this decision and maybe think twice before we all change to ESL...

only reason for 5on5 @ Lan is to lower the travel and organisation costs for players. imho!

5on5 is very fun imo

I don't see the point in completely removing the 6on6 ladders/cups ?
Ofcourse, some people find that 5on5 is "the way it's meant to be played", but a majority of the community thinks otherwise. Just because Quakecon/Xfire lan was played in 5v5 mode doesn't mean Clanbase has to go "all the way".
