As many of you might already have seen, every match is now rated by us on a scale of 0 to 3 stars - like that its easier to see how we (GTV) see the importance and quality of the match.
While I dont want to go into detail on how it works I can tell you that the rating is fully automatic - there is no admin just making up numbers. The system is based on quite some statistical data and updated about once an hour.
If you see matches that are in your opinion rated oddly high or low, please let us know (in this thread) - like every new feature there might still be problems.
In the future we will base more and more things based on the matches rating - the first thing you're going to see is that which (if any) gtv matchservers you can use will depend on the match rating. Like this we will keep the best servers also for the best matches.

that's exactly what should NOT happen, just because a match is in one of those leagues doesn't mean automatically that it's interesting. The current system is far more sophisticated than just looking at the league involved. |

i fully agree with the rating of 1 star - 31 people watched that match, that pretty much represents a "Maybe Interesting" match (shown by hovering the stars) |

quakewars is generally not as big as the good old enemy territory - while we allow for some adjustment between different games there is a limit - this leads to QW matches generally beeing rated a bit lower than et matches
i think that just represents reality ;-) |

i agree, that game should be a 2 - i've adjusted some values and ranking should go up within the next hour its definitely no 3, i've explained the idea behind the stars better in this thread: http://www.gamestv.org/forum/6-gamestv-coverage/270-feature-revisited-freely-usable-matchservers/ --> its not as easy for us to rank tm and other smaller games on this site due to lower volume, but we'll try our best ;-) |
